2013 schedule now on-line

posted Feb 3, 2013, 9:35 AM by Mark Beaver
At our Annual General Meeting last night, the club approved our 2013 Ride Schedule, which is now available under "resources".

There is a variety of rides and brevets for the coming season, including shorter options for each of the brevet rides for those who want to do a slightly shorter ride that day - each of these "escort rides" will meet and depart with the brevet riders and ride with them for the first portion of the ride.

There are a number of new routes this year along with some familiar rides as well.

The 2013 membership application form is also available as well.

Completed brevet cards (and medals, if ordered) were handed out to the participants.  We had 13 200km brevets completed last year; 10 300k's; 8 400k's, and 6 600k's.  Five riders completed our 1000km brevet and were awarded medals for their achievements.  Three members completed the Fleche Maritime 24-hour distance challenge in May and were presented with diplomas from France in recognition of their 416km distance.  Five club members achieved their "Super Randonneur" medals for completing the 200-300-400-600k series, and Tony showed off his Rocky Mountain 1200 medal.

We have six club members currently signed up for the 2013 Granite Anvil 1200k in Ontario, with one more on the waiting list - so it looks like there will be some good participation this spring as those riders tune up for their big challenge.

And congratulations to the new executive elected last night - Harry Henteleff is our uew Secretary; Tony Kelly our vice president; and Mark Beaver is president for 2013.
