A hearty congratulations to the hardy four who challenged the elements to complete last weekend's 400k brevet.  In the face of an ominous weather forecast, we had an amazing night of night-riding under clear skies with a half moon, followed by a wonderful morning ride up the Annapolis Valley to Middleton.  Then as the rains began at 11:45AM and the headwinds intensified, it became a little more of a grunt.  Congrats to Peter and Bill, and to Seana, who became only the second woman in Nova Scotia history to complete a 400.  Well done!

This weekend's Saturday ride will be a cakewalk by comparison.  This ride is entitled, "New Ross - Barss Corner".  The ride will assemble at the carpool parking lot at the intersection of Highway 103 and Route 12 at Chester Basin.  Scheduled departure time is 10AM and distance is "only" 120km.  The route is

We'll head up to New Ross then over to Franey Corner, then south to Barss Corner and New Germany for lunch.  Then a scenic ride back along the Lahave River and through the Northfields to Mahone Bay and Chester Basin again.

A cue sheet and maps will be provided at the start of the ride.  Hope you can make it!
