OK, so the silly season continues with our Saturday 300km brevet on May 25th.
The link to the route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28949217
Please note that there have been some updates to the original route as of today – if you had already loaded the route to a Garmin device, please delete it and replace it with this version.
This ride will depart from the Armdale Roundabout at 6AM on Saturday.
We’ll head out Route 3 to Chester and make a quick detour into Indian Point before our first controle of the morning in Mahone Bay. We then continue on Route 3 to another diversion down to Dayspring, on our way into Bridgewater, cross the eponymous bridge and head up the west side of the LaHave River to our second controle at New Germany. We then go north to Maplewood and Franey Corner on our way to New Ross and Vaughan (again) and down the hill to backroads into Falmouth and Windsor for another controle stop for food. We then follow Route 1 through Mount Uniacke to the Lucasville Road and Gatehouse Run on our way back into the city.
Please note that there are lots of stores on this route except between Bridgewater and New Germany; and between New Germany and New Ross – so plan your food stops accordingly – the controles are not the only places to eat – they are merely proof of passage of the route.
As this is a longer brevet, lights and reflective material are mandatory. Riders must have a bright front light and bright non-flashing rear light, and a reflective vest with ample reflective material for safety. Reflective legbands and reflective material on your bicycle or fenders are also a very good idea.
Please let me know by Thursday May 23rd of your intention to participate.
