Hi folks – OK, so here it comes – one of our larger rides of the year takes place this weekend, June 22/23rd – our 600km brevet.
The link to the route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28910812
This has been recently updated with info on controles, so load this one into your various devices please.
This ride will depart from Graham’s Grove Park in Dartmouth. Departure time is 0600 hrs on Saturday.
This is a fairly simple route in terms of navigation, especially on the first day. We’ll ride north to Truro; then onward to Parrsboro and Advocate; then onwards to Joggins and Amherst. Those planning a sleep stop in Amherst, please see below.
The route then continues to Springhill and Collingwood; to Wentworth and Debert; then onward through Truro to Maitland and Noel before a run back to the city on Beaver Bank Road.
Those planning an overnight stay in Amherst, as mentioned on a previous email, are requested to make their own reservations. The group is staying at the Comfort Inn, 143 South Albion Street. If you haven’t already made a reservation, and are seeking a room-mate for the ride, please “reply all” with your request to team up with someone, otherwise reserve a room for yourself. There are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity for supper and a 24-hours Tim Horton’s nearby for breakfast food.
If you plan to ride this brevet, please notify me by email by Thursday afternoon of your intention to participate so that I can have brevet cards ready for you. If you wish a medal for your ride, bring $15 cash with you.
