Hi all – this Saturday we have a short and scenic ride in the Annapolis Valley.
This ride is entitled, “Morden – Harbourville”. Link to the route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31680900
The ride will assemble at the parking lot behind the Tim Hortons in Coldbrook at Exit 14 off Highway 101. Park vehicles in the lower parking lot behind the building so as not to take up the merchant’s valuable parking spaces during the day. Departure time is 10am, distance is 85km.
We’ll head down to Berwick and onward to Morden, climbing over the North Mountain on our way to view the historic French Cross on the waterside at Morden, which commemorates the Acadian refugees who gathered there in 1755 during the Expulsion of the Acadians. https://mordenns.ca/about-morden/history/
We’ll then head toward Harbourville, also on the Fundy coast. There is approximately 5.5km of gravel road on the way there. Larger tires will be of benefit of course.
At Harbourville we’ll stop for a lunch break at the restaurant on the dock side, then head back over the mountain to Welsford, Grafton and Lakeville on our way back to Coldbrook.
Some riders are planning a refreshment stop at the Horton Malt House near Grand Pre after the ride.
Hope to see you there this Saturday!
