Hi all, this weekend we have a reprise of Nova Scotia’s original Century Ride, which was held every year from 1975 until 2016, called the Joseph Howe Century Tour.
This ride used to be organized by the now-defunct Velo Halifax Bicycle Club and most of its iterations were held on the route that we will be riding, which a lot of Nova Scotia roadies know as the Joe Howe Loop. Some years there were as many as 120 riders on the Joe Howe. Sadly, it is no more.
So – this ride will assemble at Grahams Grove Park in Dartmouth to depart at 9AM.
Link to the route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/2252952
A very simple route for navigation – we head out Highway 7 to Musquodoboit Harbour; then head north to Middle Musquodoboit where we’ll stop for food at Reid’s Store and Restaurant; then head west through Gays River to Elmsdale; then back into town past Laurie Park to the Waverley Road.
See you on Saturday!
cheers, Mark
