Hi folks – this Saturday we have our first scheduled out-of-town ride for your enjoyment.
The ride is entitled, “Burlington – Woodville”. Scheduled distance is 105km. Link to the route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26522739
The ride will assemble at the carpool parking lot at St Croix, at Exit 4 off Highway 101 past Mount Uniacke. Take the exit off the highway; turn left at the stop sign on Route 1; and the carpool lot is a couple hundred meters up the road. Departure time is 10AM.
We’re going to head up to Centre Burlington and Cheverie along the Noel Shore, then cut inland to Scotch Village and Clarksville, then up to Centre Rawdon and South Rawdon. We’ll stop at the South Rawdon general store for a bite to eat before heading down Ashdale Road and paying a visit to the Meander River Brewery. Flights are available for tasting there – and if you want to bring home some of the finest beer in the province, bring a little mussette bag or a big seat bag or room in your pockets to carry some home, since it’s only 14km from the finish. Some riders may also head into Windsor for post ride lunch and lies at the Spitfire Pub.
For those who haven’t been out much this spring there is a shorter option, which is this: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/27233021 – following the longer ride as far as Scotch Village then heading straight back to the cars – but of course you’ll miss the Meander River. Shorter option is 75km.
C’mon out this weekend and get out of town for a nice ride.
