Hello Randonneurs – this weekend we have our first “brevet” ride of the season – the “Wittenburg – Kennetcook” 200k.
This ride will depart from Graham’s Grove in Dartmouth at 0800 hours, that’s 8AM.
Link to the route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26513121
We’re heading out the #7 to Musquodoboit Harbour for a visit to the Dobbit Bakery, then north up the scenic Musquodoboit Valley to Wittenburg and Brookfield – then off to Kennetcook and south again on the freshly-paved Beaver Bank Road back to Dartmouth.
As this is a brevet ride, all participants need to notify me of your intention to participate by Friday afternoon so that I may prepare a brevet card for you.
If you haven’t joined the club yet this year, please bring along a completed membership application and payment.
if you wish to earn a commemorative medal for your ride, bring along $15 cash to the start.
What is a “brevet”? For our newer members, a good summary of what it’s all about may be seen at http://www.randonneursontario.ca/who/rules.html
For those riders who don’t want to go quite that far, we have a century option – this is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26624547 – cue sheet for this is attached also.
The century riders will accompany the 200k riders as far as Stewiacke, then head south back to Dartmouth.
