Hi everyone. My goodness, I will be so happy when this pandemic is over and things get back to something that looks like normalcy.
I’ve the updated ride schedule. I rejigged the summer brevets to get the best variety of locales across the 4 rides and switched up the lead-up to the first 200k to reflect a progressive increase in distance and difficulty. I’ve scattered the starting points a bit to see as much of the province as is practicable.
For the next 2 weekends…. (This is the important part)
The route on the schedule for this Saturday (June 12th) is still Vaughn-New Ross. It’s a great route, just under 100km. We still have some uncertainty about whether we can group ride with a variable (inconsistent) group of people, so my recommendation is to do the ride on your own or in a small group at the time of your choosing. If a bunch of people arrive at the Independent grocery store on Duke St. in Chester at the same time, be smart about limiting the groups to less than 10, let the faster folks go up the road and leave a 10-15 minute gap.
There’s nothing scheduled for the weekend of the summer solstice (June 19/20). I’ve left “Big, Stupid Ride” on the schedule, as I like the idea of an choose-your-own-adventure ride on the solstice. In a year when we’ve been stuck in the house, or limited to our local loops, this is the perfect time to get out with a friend and do a crazy sunup to sundown ride (or a sundown to sunup, if you prefer!)
Regular rides will pick back up (provided clear gathering protocols are given by the province) on June 26th.
Thank you for your patience, there is a lot to balance with this schedule.
All the best
Alan
